The story goes that in trying to sell his 1960 Alfa Romeo, he found a car dealer in 1997 with a Ferrari that was being used by the dealers wife around town and to take the kids to school, until she cracked the trans mount on the engine. The dealer made Tony a "Deal he could not refuse" as they say in New Jersey, and with a chunk of cash plus the Alfa, the 1968 Ferrari GT 2+2 came home with Tony. He pulled the engine, fixed the bad mount, cleaned up the car, and was now on his way to building his collection.
